Design

Prosthetics, orthotics, wheelchairs, joint replacements, and other devices are needed by many individuals to complete the day-to-day activities that are often taken for granted.  Orchestrating motion is complex. Computer simulation allows researchers, clinicians, and engineers to understand how these devices interact with the musculoskeletal system.  Many individuals rely on these devices for safe and pain-free motion and simulation with OpenSim can help designers optimize their function.

Design Ideals:  Modeling and simulation to improve the design of prosthetics, implants, and other devices.
