Intended Audience

Anyone who uses OpenSim's muscle-focused tools (static optimization, computed muscle control, forward dynamics) or uses muscles through the OpenSim API.

Webinar Goals

During this webinar, you will learn about:

  • Improvements to the existing OpenSim muscle models: We will describe the problems with the old implementation of the Thelen muscle model and how these were fixed. We will also discuss how these changes impact the simulation results.

  • Two new muscles models: We will explain the problems with the conventional equilibrium formulation of past muscle models and describe how we fixed these problems with the Millard2012EquilibriumModel and the Millard2012AccelerationModel. You will learn how to use these models in the soon-to-be-released OpenSim 3.0.
