OpenSim Workshop at CMBBE 2015

OpenSim Fellows Ian Stavness and Matt DeMers, along with James Dunne, will give a hands-on workshop at the International Symposium on Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering (CMBBE) in Montreal, Canada Sept 1-5, 2015.

Workshop Title: OpenSim for Muscle-Driven Multibody Dynamics and Control: Overview and Hands On Example

The workshop will start with a brief overview of the capabilities of the OpenSim software. The majority of the time will then be devoted to using the OpenSim software to perform forward dynamic simulations of movement that include contact modeling and muscle stretch reflexes. Ian Stavness (University of Saskatchewan), Matt DeMers, and James Dunne (Stanford University) will lead participants through the process of designing, performing, and analyzing forward simulations of human movement using open source models and tools from OpenSim. The workshop will also highlight recent OpenSim advances and current research.

OpenSim beginners are welcome to attend, but you should complete at least one of the introductory tutorials to familiarize yourself with the OpenSim Graphical User Interface. Participants should either bring a PC laptop with OpenSim 3.3 installed or be prepared to team up with another participant. Attendance is limited, so reserve your seat by registering on the CMBBE website.
